War, he wu commander of an
armored unit that participated in
the liberation of the west bank of
the Jordan. He Is in the United
States under the sponsorship of
the hired government, for further
work in the field of aeronautical
engineering.

advance of the Pisgah dinner
dance honoring , Droock 7 p.m.
March 12 at Cong. Baal David.
The occasion will mark - his 80th
birthday and his 58 years of ser-

Second Bnai Brith-Sponsored Housing
for Senior Adults Going Up in East

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Construc-
tion will begin here this summer
on the second high-rise complex
in a Huai Brith-sponsored pro-
gram of nonprofit, nonsectarian
housing for elderly persons on
limited Incomes.
Bnai Brith Salem Lodge of this
city has organized a corporation to
erect and maintain a 14-story, 205-
unit development, which will be
financed through a $3,380,000 fed-
eral mortgage loan approved by
the Department of Housing and

Urban Development.
The first Bnal Beth complex,
a Lt-story, 173-unit high-rise in
Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Is sow under
rollitructlen. It will be complet-
ed and ready for occupancy in
'July or August.
Both projects are equipped
with special features for the elder-
ly—nonskid floors, raised electri-
cal outlets, graded ramps and
corridor and lavatory grab rails.
The Bnai Brith program, co-
ordinated through the organiza-
tion's senior citizens housing com-
mittee, is to assist those 62 and

'LYDDA—El Al is to invest $21,-
000,000 over a five- to six-year pe-
riod on an extensive building pro-
gram in connection with absorption
of its two Boeing 747s—the first of
which enters service on June 1 and
the second in November 1971.
Of the total, some $14,000,000 will
be spent here, where already in
advanced stage of construction is
the 747 hangar, with a roof area of
over two acres—the largest build-
ing of its type In the Middle East.

Within a 100-acre complex,
construction is proceeding on
new maintenance depots, work-
shops, spare parts stores and
simply depots. Also under con-
struction Is a big aircraft park-
ing lot.

At stations overseas, $7,000,000
will be spent on reconstruction and
enlargement of airport facilities.
The program includes the building
of a freight handling depot and a
new, additional, •passenger terminal
at Kennedy Airport and, also, a
freight handling depot at London's
Heathrow Airport.
Following the success of its own
catering unit at London Airport, a
similar unit is to be established at
Kennedy, in partnership with a
local caterer. At present, El Al
serves some 200,000 main meals
and 250,000 snacks monthly.

Three Local Rabbis

Rabbis Herbert S. Eakin, Richard
C. Hertz and Milton Rosenbaum of
Detroit are 25-year members of the
Association of Jewish Chaplains of
the Armed Forces who will be
cited at the association's silver
jubilee meeting in New York,
