NEW YORK — The second class of the Brith Milah School conducted at the Mount Sinai - Hospital has commenced studies at the Mount Sinai Hospital and at the Beth Is- rael Medical CeOter. Rabbi Leo Jung, president of the Brith Milah Board which sponsors the school, stated that the school's purpose is to insure the New York Jewish community the availability of highly qualified men to perform the task of circumcision. The students will receive instruc- tion from physicians, mohelim and rabbis. The board and the school are supported by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York through a grant to the New York Board of Rabbis. The Detroit Chapter of the American Technion Society com- pleted $500,000 in pledges, and the Israel government matched the gift. In November, the local group will begin a new campaign to raise $500,400 for laboratory equipment. • * The Detroit Chapter, American Technion Society; has completed its $500,000 pledge for the construc- tion of the Mechanical Engineer- ing Complex, a $1,000,000 structure at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. The Israel govern- ment has been matching the chap- ter's fund, dollar for dollar. Detroit Chapter President Sam Rich announced that the three buildings will be ready for dedica- tion in May. For this occasion, members of the Technion Society in Detroit are organizing a special trip. It will include a three-day seminar at the Technion facilities, including visits with the faculty and students; formal dedication of the complex with a reception and dinner; visits to major Israeli in- dustrial plants; and sightseeing trips, culminating in a stay at the seashore.
