Mrs. Leon Rosky and Mrs. Sol Schafer have been named chairmen of the worn- en's division campaign of the Flint United Jewish Appeal by Murray Moss, UJA general chairman. "The needs of the 1971 campaign are so vital that a total effort of the entire Jewish community— men, women and children — is necessary. We know that the wom- en's division, under the dynamic leadership of these women, will Mrs. Dodge reach new levels of humanitarian giving in 1971," Moss stated. Mrs. Dodge served as co-chair- man of the women's division in 1962, was secretary of the Flint Jewish Community Council's exec- utive committee, is a past president of Flint Temple Beth El Sisterhood, and has been active in many other areas of community effort. "The vision of peace that we have is not just a silly idea," Bar- more said, "because we believe in the sobriety of our neighbors and that we will be able to convince them of our sincerity." But Barmore added that if peace cannot be achieved, then Israel must look to its security because it realizes that "every attempt to destroy Israel's sovereignty must be defeated." Barmore said that Russia is the only power in the Middle East that has something to lose if there is peace between the Arabs and Is- raelis. Consequently, he said, Russia is doing its best to thwart peace efforts. He said that Israel will not buckle under the threats and in- timidations of the Soviets. He noted that every Israeli knows what he is fighting for: peace.
