Today I walked the self same street
And I loved the folks I met
If business had not made me leave
I would have been there yet
Of course I've solved the mystery
It's very plain to see
The day I met the gloomy folk
The gloom was Inside me.

Kadirnah Is 50

Four years after its 50th an-
niversary, the Kadimah Club cm-
ally got around to celebrating.
The golden milestone took the
form of a cocktail party at the
Frank Farber home in Southfield.
Kadimah organizer and first presi-
dent Sally Fields conducted the
business meeting, and Rabbi
Solomon Gruskin was main speak-
er.
Starting with an even dozen
members, the club at one time
reached a high of 50, but is back
down to some 15 active members.
Its original purpose, to help
persons in need and to provide
a social atmosphere for members,
continues to be a Kadimah aim,
but the small membership makes
charitable work more difficult.
However, the croup continues to
work with Rabbi Gruskin in as-
sisting the patients of local mental
hospitals and contributing to their
annual Passover luncheon, don-
ating to American Red Mogen
Dovid and the "Israel Will Live"
sticker fund.
Officers are Ruth Glass, presi-
dent; Helen Fitlow, vice presi-
dent; Ethel Rogers, recording sec-
retary: Rose Moscow, treasurer:
and Mary Cohen, corresponding
secretary.

THE WELL-BRED
The difference - between a well-
bred and ill-bred man is this: One
irnmedlately attracts your liking,
and the other your aversion. You
love the one till you find reason
to hate him; you hate the other
till you find reason to love him.
—Samuel Johnson
