6800 'Dix, died Monday at age 64.
Mr. Gunsberg, 29225 Lancaster,
Southfield, was a member of Cong.

Masons, of which he was past
master, and the American Meat
Institute. He was born in New
York and lived in the Detroit area
60 years.
Survivors are his wife, Tillie;
two daughter s, Mrs. Nathan
(Elaine) Rosenthal and Mrs. Leon
(Joan) Moskovitz; his mother, Mrs.
Fanny Gunsberg; three brothers,
Harry, Edward and Andrew; a
sister, Mrs. David (Rose) Krause
Harry I. Gross, former presi- of Miami Beach; and two grand-
dent and co-owner of Gross Realty children.

in Miami Beach, where he retired

Philip Stone, an electrician with
the. Detroit Police Department for
41 years until his retirement 10
years ago, died Feb. 6 at age 75.
Mr. Stone, 19205 Votrobeck, was
a 50-year member of the Detroit
Federation of Musicians and played
in the Detroit Police Band for the
past 25 years. He was born in
Utica, N.Y., and lived in Detroit
55 years.
Survivors are his wife, Bessie;
a -son, Sanford H. of La Mesa,
Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Albert A.
(Charlene) Dawes; a brother, Ar-
thur; three sisters, Mrs. Ann

Dave Livitsky, retired co-owner
of Dixfield Supermarkets, died Feb,
4 at age 60.
Mr. Livitsky, born in New York,
was a member of Mosaic Lodge of
the Masons. . .
He leaves his wife, Sarah, 24920

two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Jo-
anne) Langeil of Hollywood, Fla,

Harry Goldberg, downtown De-
troit news' dealer for 36 years-
at the well-known Grand Circus
Park stand-died Feb. 5 at age 57.
Until last summer, Mr. Goldberg
additionally supervised the Daily
Racing Form sales at Hazel Park
and the Detroit Race Course. He
was a basketball fan in his youth,
and served as mascot of the Cincy
Sachs professional teams that
played in Detroit in the 1930s and
1940s.
A native Detroiter, Mr. Goldberg
lived at 23480 Beverly, Oak Park.
He leaves his wife, Rose; a son,
Jeffrey; two daughters, Claudia
and Andrea; two brothers, David
and Louis; and a sister, Mrs. Jack
(Fay) Rosenberg.

Leonird Canner, a retired tailor
who owned EZ-Cello Cleaners on
Linw000d Ave., died Tuesday at
age 68. -
Mr. Canner,' 25361 Shiawassee,
Southfield, was a member of Tem-
ple Israel and the United Friend-
ship Club. Born in Russia, he lived
in the Detroit area 50 'years:

ier, died Tuesday at age 81.
A native of Hungary, Mr. Good-
man, 25337. W. iskattinartre, Oak
Park, - lived in this area for 58
years. He owned Goodman's Men's
Wear in Pontiac and belonged to
Young Israel and the Knights of
Pythias.

ters, Mrs. Docfald (Helen) Coville
and Mrs. Moe (Ruth) Traurig; a
brother, Herman Guttman; a sister,

Louis Fellander, president of the
Chemical Service Corp., 21612 W.
McNichols for the past nine years,
died Wednesday at age 69.
Mr. Fellander, 20203 Brentwood,
Livonia, was a member of the Li-
vonia Jewish Congregation, Dear-
born Lodge of the Masons and
Dov Frankel Lodge of Enai Brith.
He was born in Minneapolis.
Surviving are his wife, Mary;' a
son, Norman; a daughter, Mrs.
Herbert (•Pearl) Kagen of Charles-
ton, W. Va.; a brother, George
Grossman; a sister, Mrs. Joseph
(Eva) Weintraub; and five grand-
children.
Wladislaw Kovalski;
Hid 49 Polish Jews
TEL AVIV (JTA)--Col. Wladis-
law Kovalski, one of the "righteous
gentiles" who decided to share his
fate with that of the Jews and
settled in Israel, died at his home
in the Gedera settlement at age 75.
Kovalski, who was in the Polish
Army between the two world wars,
risked his and his family's lives
to help Polish Jews during the
Holocaust, hiding 49 of them in his
home. He married a Jewish
woman, settled in Israel in 1957
and worked for the Yad Vashem
memorial institute.
