"In all his endeavors Abraham
Shiffman has been a vibrant ex-
ample of the highest creative
instincts of mankind. His wise
and productive efforts have help-
ed countless individuals while
his inherent sense of decency has
inspired many others to join him
in his good works. We pay tri-
bute to him in the knowledge
that men often emulate those
whom they honor."

The Palm Beach reception in
Shiffman's honor will mark the
inaugural event of the American
Jewish Committee's 1971 Appeal
for Human Relations.
Continuing this year as a vice
chairman of the Allied Jewish
Campaign, Shiffman, who was born
in Detroit 80 years ago, has to
his credit numerous generous gifts
that run into the millions. The
Shiffman Foundation made pos-
sible the establishment of the Vera
Parshall Shiffman Wayne State
University Library. ORT benefits
from major Shiffman gifts and
Israeli projects have been aided
in the cultural and social service
fields.
