and outlined the current political
situation in Israel.
Prior to his address, the meet-
ing was greeted by Mayor Nor-
man Feder of Southfield who wel-
comed Weisman and presented
him with the Key to the City of
Southfield.
Louis Panush presided at the
meeting and Dr. Sidney Leib re-
ported on the inauguration of the
ZOD membership drive.
Weisman described Zionism as
the self-liberation movement of
the Jewish people. "Jewry's secret
weapon is its love of Zion." he
stated.
The ZOA president said that he
did not join in issuing a statement
of condemnation of the Jewish De-
fense League because he recog-
nized the agonies that motivated
the JDL actions. While he did not
condone such actions and did not
endorse JDL, he said he would
not condemn Jews who were pro-

work. So at age 40, she became
community director of Planned
Parenthood, and in 10 years, saw
the organization grow from three
ladies working out of the third
floor of an old row house to 18
persons roaming about an old
building. Her friends call her "dyn-
amite" but she says simply,
a people person."
In the February Harper's Maga
zine, John Corry takes an in-depth
look at "the life and times of an
organization lady."
Mrs. Lieberman calls it part of
- being a Jewish mother, to hover
about her husband, Alfred, three
sons and friends, worrying about
them all. And this worry extends
to the larger world.
Mrs. Lieberman puts in some
50 hours weekly for Planned
Parenthood, speaking to " women
about contraception in her own
"human way." She tells a group
at a housing project that the only
sure way to prevent a pregnancy
is to have their husbands "sleep
on the roof." Or, describes men-
struation as "nothing more than
the tears of a disappointed womb."
In addition to her work with
Planned Parenthood. Mrs. Lieb-
