Akiva to Pay Tribute to Founder Berris
at Concert, 'Israeli Night of Stars'

Rabbi Hayim Donin, president of
Akiva Hebrew Day School; an-
nounces the third annual Akiva
concert will feature an "Israeli
Night of Stars" Feb. 14 at Ford
Auditorium.
A concert fund-raising goal of
$75,000 will enable the further ex-
pansion of physical and teaching
facilities at Akiva.
Special recognition will be ac-
corded to Akiva founder and past
president, David I. Berris, for his
efforts in behalf of the Detroit
Jewish community and the Hebrew
day school movement. Concert

founded in September 1964, with
the goal of combining talmudic
scholarship with modern Hebrew
as the language of instruction.
