For many years she has ap- peared in public functions as a pianist. She is both a performer and a composer and her piano compositions are now available on a record that is receiving wide acclaim. Titled "Reflections," Mrs. Al- lan's compositions played by her have been collected and issued as a Nor-Est Recording. Accompanied by Detroit Sinfoni- etta, her music was arranged by Felix Resnick. Included are the Norman Con- certo, Autumn Nocturne, Nancy's Waltz, Romantic Concerto, Ocean Rhapsody, Karen's Butterflies and Meditation. These c ompositions honor her husband, her youngest child and a grandchild. Mrs. Norman received music de- grees from London Royal Academy of Music and Scottish National Academy of Music. She is the daughter of the well-known cantor, Rubin Boyarsky. More than 100 members of 14 sisterhoods, brought the joy of Hanuka to some 300 residents of 13 nursing homes. Each elderly person received a small gift donated by the sister- hood, the homes were decorated, songs were sung and refresh- ments served. This Hanuka activity Is a part of the "person.to-person" project of the Jewish Family and Children's Service. Recog- nizing a need to offer assistance to the lonely, frightened and Ill of all ages, JFCS is currently expanding its volunteer activi- ties, under the direction of Mrs. Joseph Jackier, appointed chair- man of the volunteer services committee by Herbert Sillman, president of JFCS. Mr. Deutch is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Deutch of Lucerne Dr., Southfield. Mrs. Dennis Dembs served as matron of honor, and Martin G. Deutch was best man. Jerald Kramer to Take Maxine Finkel as Bride of Beverly Ave., Oak Park, are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today, and a brunch given by their children Sunday will highlight the event. Mr. and Mrs. Sorkowitz were born in Poland. After both their families migrated to the United States, they grew up as neighbors on adjacent farms in New York state. Mrs. Sorkowitz, the former Ida B. Silverstein, moved to Detroit with her family, and after an ex- change of letters and visits Mr. Sorkowitz came to Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Sorkowitz were married on Jan. 1, 1921. Mr. Sorkowitz was employed by Davison-Rite Tool Co. as a ma- chinist until his retirement in 1960. He belongs to Rosenwald Post of American Legion and Bnai Brith. The couple's children are Fred and Martin, both of Detroit; and they have four children. • Detroit lawyer Michael L.
