MRS. JAMES DALE
Barbara Jo Burkoff, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Burkoff
of Castle Dr., Birmingham, be-
came the bride of James Michael
Dale in a recent ceremony at the
Sheraton-Cadillac Hot el. Rabbi
Sherwin Wine officiated.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr.
and Mrs. Mark Dale of Pickering
Rd., Birmingham.
The bride wore an Empire-line
princess style gown of silk peau
de sole, detailed with Alencon
lace. It featured a high neck-
line, long Juliet sleeves and an
attached chapel-length train. The
bridal headpiece was of import-
ed silk illusion and matching
lace. She carried a mixed bou-
quet of white flowers.
Mrs. John Burkoff of Ann Arbor
served as matron of honor. Brides-
maids were Julie Dale, Robin
Stallworth and Sara Jane Burkoff.
Robert Dale was best man. Ross
Lerner of Sandusky, Michael Slo-
man of Boston, Bryan Yolles and
John Burkoff served as ushers.
Following a honeymoon to Aca-
pulco, the couple will reside in
Sterling Heights.

Marriages

ROSE-SLAWIN: Lisa Slawin be-
came the bride of Dr. Howard
Rose in a recent ceremony at the
Sheration - Cadillac Hotel. Rabbi
Morton Kanter officiated. Parents
of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan Slawin of Riverside Dr.,
Southfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Rose of Coolidge Hwy., Oak Park.
The bride wore her grandmother's
lace gown and a simple illusion
veil. She carried a bouquet of
baby's breath and sweetheart roses.
The bride's sister, Mitzi Weitzman,
served her as matron of honer.
Robert Rose was his brother's
best man. Ronald Weitzman was
the usher. After a honeymoon in
Miami and Nassau, the couple is
residing in Atlantic City, where
Dr. Rose interns.

KINNERET CHAPTER, Pioneer
Women, will hold a Hanuka cele-
bration and musical program noon
Dec. 28 at the Workmen's Circle
Center. President Rebecca Cohen
says a candle-lighting ceremony
will be featured. The musical por-
tion will present vocalists Ruth
Goldman, accompanied at the
piano by Hope Dewey. Esther Nus-
baum, membership chairman, will
present pins to the 1970 life mem-
bers, who are Pearl Chaifetz,
Frances Driker, Sonia Gertzman,
Esther Reder and Mae Sklar. Re-
freshments will be served by Ruth
Adelman and Rebecca Cohen.
Friends are invited.

BNAI DAVID SISTERHOOD
will be joined by the men's club
for their annual Hanuka party 8:30
p.m. Tuesday at the synagogue.
Entertainment will be presented
by children of Bnai David Reli-
gious School, accompanied on the
guitar by teacher Itz Weisberg.
Holiday refreshments will be
served.

Yiddish Folks Farein
Plans Dinner-Dance

The Yiddish Folks Farein will
hold its 59th annual dinner-dance
Feb. 7 at Cong. Bnai Moshe.
Vice president Ted Lepofsky has
appointed David and Bernice Nor-
ris dinner-dance chairmen. On the
committee are Messrs. and Mes-
dames Ted Lepofsky, Edwin
Schwartz and Gordon Seedberg.
The Yiddish Folks Farein orga-
nization contributes to Jewish
causes. It boasts of being the only
Jewish ethnic group to successfully
integrate the "second generation"
—children of the founders—into its
membership. Looking forward to
having third-generation, Yiddish
Folks Farein says it has no "gen-
eration gap."

CLUB will hold a Hanuka party
7:30 p.m. Monday at the Zionist
Cultural Center, Southfield. Manuel
Neiman, husband of past president

Dr. Sidney Z. Leib was appoint-
ed a member of the "Committee
of One Hundred" Zionist leaders
from all parts of the United States
who will concentrate efforts on in-
creasing the strength of *the Zion-
ist Organization of America.
Arnold R. Ginsburg of Philadel-
phia, ZOA national membership
chairman, appointed as national
vice chaiman Carmi M. Slomovitz,
a past president of the Detroit
ZOA and now president of the De-
troit Zionist Federation.
Dr. Leib, secretary and member-
ship chairman of the Zionist Or-
ganization of Detroit and treasur-
er of the Detroit Zionist Federa-
tion, said "I shall call upon the
spiritual and secular leaders in the
Jewish community to join the Zi-
onist Organization of America.

Marilynn Jo Bayles became the
bride of Scott Lane Silver in a
recent ceremony at Temple Beth
Israel in Fort Lauderdale.
Mrs. Silver is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin D. Bayles,
former Detroiters of Fort Lauder-
dale. The bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney H. Silver
of Harding Ave., Oak Park.
The bridegroom's sister and
brother, Mindy and Neal Silver,
served as maid of honor and best
man.
The newlyweds will live in Long
Beach, Calif.
