The third lecture In the Winter
Professional Growth Institute at
Cong. Beth Shalom will be held
Tuesday in the form of Audio-
Visual Media Workshop, conducted
by Sy Epstein, on "Teaching
Teachers How to Utilize Audio-
Visual Techniques In the Congre-
gational School Classroom."
Epstein graduated from Colum-
bia and Brandeis universities and
the Jewish Theological Seminary
and is a researcher in audio-visual
media for Jewish education at
Brandeis University.
The organizer of the program is
the Beth Shalom director of edu-
cation, Sidney Selig.

Three Day Schools Form Association

The three Jewish day schools in
the Detroit area—Akiva Hebrew
Day School, Hillel Day School and
Yeshivath Beth Yehuda—have or-
ganized into an Association of
Hebrew Day Schools of Metropoli-
tan Detroit. Its purpose is to "act
jointly and cooperatively in all
matters affecting the interests of
the day schools and to represent
the day schools to the community."
Mark E. Schlussel was elected
president; Robert Kasle, vice presi-
dent, and David N. Cohen, secre-
tary-treasurer. Serving on the
board of directors will be Leonard
Baron, Jerome W. Kelman, Rabbi

library of Stephen Wise Congress
House, on E. 84th St., national
headquarters of the American
Jewish Congress, Wednesday be-
came the. first reading room in
New York City devoted to Jewish
literature, reference books, schol-
arly works and other periodicals.
The Charles and Bertie G.
Schwartz Reading Room was dedi-
cated by Mrs. Charles Snitow of
Scarsdale, president of the Amer-
ican Jewish Congress National Wo-
men's Division. When complete,
