Collegians Plan Graduate Auxiliary,
Center Sport Night and Guest Passes

The Michigan Association of
Jewish College Students has an-
nounced the forrhation of an auxil-
iary for graduate students.
Jerome Katz and Elizabeth Kut-
by, graduate students from Wayne
State University and Michigan As-
sociation correspondents, have
drafted a letter that is being sent
to graduate students on the mail-
ing list. It asks for ideas on the
purpose of an auxiliary and how
it should relate to the rest of the
MAJCS.
Unaffiliated graduate students
can get a copy of the letter, or
request to be placed on the mail-
ing list, by calling the Michigan
Association office, DI 1-6200, ext.

The group's newsletter reaches
approximately 1,300 Jewish An-
•dents.
AR MAJCS members and their
student friends are invited to the
first Michigan Association recrea-
tion night, 8 p.m. Dec. 22 at the
Jewish Center.
Through a special arrangement.

guest passes are being made avail-
able to non-Center members for
a nominal fee. This will entitle
participants to play volleyball, use
the pool and locker rooms as well
as other center facilities.
Coffee will be served. A guest
pass for the entire vacation period
also is available.

Camp Job Applications
Now Available at Center

The Jewish Center again will be
providing extensive camp pro-
grams to children and youth this
summer.
Applications for positions of unit
supervisor, specialist, counselor
and junior counselor are now
available in the group services
division. All salaries have been
raised since last season.
Those with an interest in work-
ing with youngsters with back-
grounds in various program skills
and an interest and commitment
to Jewish life are especially invited
to apply. Interviews will be ar--
ranged after the completed appli-
cation is returned.

JERUSALEM—"Between people
I sense the closeness of the coun-
try. When I first came here, I
immediately noticed that everyone
talked to each other," said 19-year-
old Detroiter Joey Lerner. "It was
a strange feeling, especially after
I realized they didn't all know each
other, as I originally thought."
Lerner, son of Mrs. George
Lerner of Ohio Ave.. has just
begun classes at the Hebrew Uni-
versity, where he
will continue his
urban studies —
courses in sociol-
ogy, geography,
economics, politi-
cal science, so-
cial work, natural
resources, ecol-
ogy and archi-
tecture.

community center, Southfield.
