solving accommodation problems
among the student body, and en-
suring the strength of our return
to this, our original home," said
Prof. Jacob Katz, rector of the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem,
as he chaired the dedication on
the Mount Scopus campus of the
WIZO Hostel in the names of
Rosa and Shlomo Ginossar.
Built with the help of funds
raised by WIZO members in
Great Britain, Australia and South
Africa, the hostel houses 60 wom-
en students and is among the
first of the permanent dormitories
now nearing completion on the
Mount Scopus campus.
This new complex will eventu-
ally consist of 19 dormitories pro-
viding accommodation for some-
what over 2,000 students.
The late Shlomo Ginossar, the
son of Ahad Ha'am, had been
among the group most closely as-
sociated with the university's
foundation and had served it for
years in the senior echelons of its
administration. Rosa Ginossar has
been a pioneer for the rights of
women.

Sapir to Succeed Golda as Premier? Both Deny Report

political heir of Premier Golda
Meir was "one big invention." But
Sapir's denial of the accuracy of
the report was less than categori-
cal.
According to Time, the selection
of Sapir was made at a secret
Labor Party caucus at the home
of Tel Aviv's Mayor Yehoshua
Rabinovitz.

Gen. Dayan has been widely re-
garded as the popular choice to
succeed Mrs. Mein
Questioned by newsmen, Sapir
said, "We have a strong prime
minister. What is the point of talk-
ing about the end of her premier-
ship or about the possibility of an
early retirement?"
The Time story observed that
Mrs. Meir's term ends in 1973 "or
when, and if, Mrs. Meir, now 72,
decides on an early retirement."
Mrs. Meir also denied the Time
report.
Sapir, 61, who was born in Po-
land and emigrated to Palestine in
1929, is one of the most powerful
figures of the "Old Guard" Labor
Party leadership and has the repu-
tation of a "king-maker." It was
he who proposed Mrs. Meir for the
premiership following the death
of Premier Levi Eshkol two years
ago.
According to Time, Mrs. Meir
was "gratified" when she learn-
ed that her party leadership had
chosen Sapir to succeed her. Re-
lations between Mrs. Meir and
her outspoken defense minister
are reportedly strained.
But most public opinion polls
here have put Gen. Dayan ahead of
