ADAS SHALOM SISTERHOOD'S
25th birthday and paid-up member-
ship luncheon will take place noon
Monday in the synagogue social
hall. Mrs. Daniel Knopper, vice
president of membership and chair-
man of the day, has the assistance
of Mesdames Samuel Dobkin, spe-
cial events social chairman, George
Brown, Herman Goldenberg, Harry
Fortner, Ronald Schecter and
Nathan Starman. Mrs. Isadore
Goren, president, invites all paid-
up members, and Mrs. William
Zimmerman, financial secretary,
will accommodate all who wish to
pay their dues at the door. Mrs.
Abe Cherrin, program vice presi-
dent, plans to honor charter, life.
and new members. Mrs. Daniel
Shapiro will give capsule book re-
views. Mesdames Jacob Kahn and
Simon Krasner, book and gift shop
chairmen, will have Hanuka items
available: Mrs. Morris N. Posner,
motor corps chairman, 548-9305,
will arrange for transportation if
needed.

OAK PARK GROUP, Hadassah,
will meet noon Tuesday at the
Carlyle Towers party room. Yid-
dish actor Harry Weinberg will
speak, and a petite luncheon will
be served. Weinberg will recount,
in English, the golden era of the
Yiddish theater. Weinberg came to
America in 1910 as a professional
Yiddish actor and played in New
York and other cities. In Detroit,
he hosted the Yiddish radio hour
for 25 years. He was a founder of
the Sholem Aleichem Institute,
and was president of the local
Federation of Polish Jews.

YEHUDAH and WOMEN'S SAB-
BATH LEAGUE will hold their an-
nual pre-Hanuka latke party noon
Tuesday at Shomrey Emunah Syna-
gogue. The luncheon is sponsored
by Mrs. Ethel Dvorkin and Mrs.
Leo Laufer. Entertainment will be
by Elaine Jaffe of Beth- Jacob
School. Hostesses are Mesdames
Walter Epstein, Gussie Cardash,
Becky Gendelman, Mendel . Stark
and Rose Bielewich. Proceeds will
go for furthering Jewish educa-
