The book, "The Civil War in Jordan and the Hijackings" was written by Peter Snow, a television commentator regarded as a Middle East expert. Snow claimed that King Hussein urged Western am- bassadors to summon help and told them he would not mind if Israeli troops participated in an expedition to help him preserve his throne. Questioned by the Jewish Tele- graphic Agency, an Israeli foreign office spokesman said, "We had no requests by King Hussein to pass on such a proposition to the government of Israel." The spokes- man did not deny, however, that such a proposal had been made.
