BB Women's Chapter
Starts Fraud Squad
to Protect Consumers

WASHINGTON (JTA) — A 'ling
Brith Women's chapter in Beverly
Hills, the Justice Chapter, made
up mainly of women who are either
attorneys themselves or wives of
attorneys, has organized a fraud
squad with the goal of protecting
consumers against abuses.
The fraud squad was created in
response to the realization that
consumers were being bilked of
millions of dollars annually through
con artists, swindlers, advertising
misrepresentation, inadequate ser-
vices and inferior products, chap-
ter officials said.
The fraud squad supports legis-
lation to protect the consumer,
including backing for a full dis-
closure law in California to re-
quire that all commercially-
offered products list their con-
tents, according to a report in
the current "Women's World,"
the official Boat Brith Women's
publication.
The fraud squad also seeks to
obtain legislation providing strong-
er punishment f o r offenders
against consumers.
The group plans to publish a
"Consumer Beware" bulletin to
warn consumers of possibly harm-
ful or ineffective products and
services.

To All My Dear Friends

Who have been so wonderful to me and my family

through my illness.
I wish I could thank you all individually, but that
would be an impossible task.
So I want to take this opportunity to thank you and
tell you how much I appreciate your gifts, your flowers
and your cards and most of all your prayers.
I love you all!

`Israel Will Live' Stickers

Through a combined community
effort sponsored by Bnai Brith,
in cooperation with many other
Jewish organizations, more than
50,000 "Israel Will Live" automo-
bile-stickers have been distributed
throughout the area.
In a project designed to make
an impact on public opinion and
to show community support for
Israel, bumper stickers were dis-
tributed by Bnai Brith through the
cooperation of synagogues and
temples during the High Holy
Days.
Gary Alter, executive director
of the Metropolitan Detroit Bnai
Brith Council, reports that requests
for stickers have come in from
many area church groups for use
by their members.
'A small supply may be obtained
at the Metropolitan Detroit Final
Brith Council office, 21711 W. 10
Mile, Southfield.
