Bishop Ajamian, a staunch sup- porter of Israel, is here to pro- mote tourism to Israel and espe- cially to Jerusalem. Leaders of the Armenian community will join in greeting the bishop. Bishop Ajamian, named chancel- lor of the Armenian Patriarchate man of the Detroit Chapter, Capi- tal for Israel, Inc. Louis E. Levi- tan is Detroit representative. Last year, he was elected gen- eral secretary of the Bishops' Council. which met in Armenia to reorganize the Armenian Apos- tolic Church. At that time, Bishop Ajamian was designated to pre- pare the scientific and complete translation of the Bible into mod- ern Armenian. He is known for his leadership in the campaign for the restora- tion of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the most sacred shrine of Christianity. After the Six-Day War, Bishop Aleutian was designated by the Interna- tional Committee for the Restora- tion of the Holy Shrines on Mount Zion, to carry on a similar cam- paign in the United States, which be accomplished with success. ZOD Panel to Air `Zionism, U.S. Jew' A panel on "The Relevance of Zionism to the American Jew" will be presented 8:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Zionist Cultural Center, un- der the- auspices of the Zionist Or- ganization of Detroit. Walter A. Nussbaum, ZOD pro- gram chairman, said panel partici- pants will be Rabbis Milton Arm and Moses Lehrman, both past presidents of the ZOD, and Beinesh Epstein, national consultant to the public affairs department of the Zionist Organization of America. Moderator will be Louis Panush, chairman of the ZOD executive committee. Dr. Joel I.
