25 Women Get Federation 'Sheepskins'

The 25 women recently gathered
at the Southfield home of Mrs.
Maurice Kurzmann received dip-
lomas honoring their successful
completion of the leadership sem-
inar of the women's division, Jew-
ish Welfare Federation.

The graduation tea was the final
meeting of the seminar, held an-
nually by the division as part of
its continuing program to bring to
the attention of Detroit area Jew-
ish women the problems facing
Jewry and the work being done
by the organized Jewish com-
munity.

The seminar was held on six
successive Wednesdays in different
agencies to acquaint the women
with the Federation agencies and
to give them an in-depth view of
the services which are performed.
The women invited to participate
are those who have shown leader-
ship potential. Mrs. Brand Marwil
was chairman.
Mrs. Abraham Pasternak was
co-chairman of the seminar, Mrs.
Kurzmann, adviser; and Mrs. Nor-
man H. Rosenfeld, orientation
chairman.

ternity. He is a junior at WSU's
school of medicine and belongs to
Phi Delta Epsilon.

Gibor Textile Works Ltd., manu-
facturer of women's stockings and
pantyhose, is the number one ex-
porter of industrial goods, other
than diamonds, to the U.S.
The company expects to more
than double Its export sales figure
of 1969, $11,500,000, to $24,000,000
in 1970. Only two other Israeli
companies, Haifa Refineries Ltd.
and Timna Copper Mining Com-
pany, topped Gibor's 1969 export
figure. The projection for 1971 is
$35 million. According to official
Israeli statistics, Gibor exported
merchandise worth $6,700,000 dur-
ing the months of January to Au-
gust, 1970, to the U.S.

Detroit Socialites
Plan Harvest Dance

The Detroit Socialites will pre-
sent a "Harvest Dance," 9 p.m.
Saturday at the Berkley Masonic
Temple.
