Boy Scouts of America honored
three outstanding scouters Sunday
by presenting the Shofar Award,
at the Charles Howell Scout Res-
ervation.
The Shofar Award recognizes
outstanding service given by ad-
ults in the promotion of scouting
among boys of Jewish Faith.
The three outstanding scouters
honored are: Sidney E. Dinner,
Russell Sterling Davis and An-
drew Gunsberg.

Bernard W. Klein, former city
controller, was chosen chairman
of Detroit's charter revision com-
mission at an informal meeting of
the nine commission members
Tuesday.
A formal vote will be conducted
after the commission members
are sworn into office. The commis-
sion was created by a referendum
in the August primary and charg-
ed with updating Detroit's city
charter.
Klein, vice president for admini-
stration of Wayne County Com-
munity College, won the chairman-
ship 6-3 over David Kaufman, at-
torney.

NEW YORK (JTA)—Kosher din-
ing clubs under Young Israel
sponsorship were started this fail
at the University of Texas in Aus-
tin, the University of Southern
California at Berkeley and the
State University of New York at
Stonybrook.
The three new clubs bring to 17
the total of such kosher dining
facilities at campuses in the Unit-
ed States. The program also pro-
vides kosher sandwiches at eight
campuses.
