Joel D. Tauber and Mrs. Max-
well H. Lapides were named out-1
standing young leaders for 1970 for
their service to the Jewish corn-
munity.
The awards were presented by
Alan E. Schwartz, Jewish Welfare
Federation president, at a meeting
of the Federation Board of Gover-
nors.
Given annually to the young
man and woman who have shown
outstanding communal leadership

and promise, the awards recog-
nize past accomplishments and
stimulate future participation in
communal affairs.
They also encourage the hon-
oree's attendance at the general
assembly of the Council of Jewish
Federations and Welfare Funds in
November.
Tauber received the Frank A.
Wetsman Memorial - Leadership
Award set up by Mrs. Frank A.
Wetsman and William M. Wets-
man in memory of their husband
and father. Mrs. Lapides was the
. recipient of the Sylvia Simon
Greenberg Award, established in
1965 by the late Samuel S. Green-
berg and Ronald and John Green-
berg in memory of his wife and
their mother.
Tauber, a Huntington Woods
resident, is a former president

in the women's division including
chairman of Fall Forum, co-chair-
man of Go-Getters and institute
planning committee, and chairman
of the post-campaign committee.
In 1969, she was a member of
the first United Jewish Appeal
Women's Mission to Israel.

CLEVELAND (JTA) — Construc-
tion began this week on 88 town-
house units for low income fami-
lies in Cleveland, a $1,500,000 proj-
ect in which the Cleveland Jewish
Community Federation and two
other Jewish groups are partici-
pating with funds and expertise.
The Cleveland Interfaith Housing
Corp. is co-sponsor of the inner
city project with the West Central
Area Development Corp.

The family of Rabbi and Mrs. Ernest E. Greenfield of Radclift
Ave., Oak Park, will help the couple celebrate its 25th anniversary
