'Operation Israel' Flights to Precede Allied Campaign As part of the pre-campaign preparation for the 1971 Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergen- cy Fund, a series of one-week "Operation Israel" flights will leave in the fall and winter to take participants to areas and installa- tions in Israel not normally open to public view. While in Israel the members of the tour will meet with high offi- cials of the government, the mili- tary and the Jewish Agency who will provide them with on the scene top-level information per- taining to the present situation. Special nonstop charter flights sponsored by the Jewish Welfare Federation and the national United Jewish Appeal will leave from New York with departure and arrival times arranged so that con- nections can be made to and from Detroit on the same day. This will enable the members of the mis- sions to make their time in Israel highly productive while requiring them to spend as little time as possible away from their homes and businesses. Germany's National Socialists, in their first anti-Jewish motion in the Reichstag, proposed the confiscation of the property of bankers and stockbrokers and of East European Jews who had immigrated since 1914. A Fascist deputy caused an uproar by declaring, "We do not desire persecution of the Jews, but we demand the elimination from German life of everything Jewish as well as the abolition of the influ- ence of the Jewish press." Special investigator Sir John Simpson recommended strictures in- cluding a suspension of Jewish immigration to Palestine pending a census.
