Bar-Ilan Establishes
Institute for Local Govt.

RAMAT GAN—The Institute for
Local Government will be opened
this fall at Bar-Han University
with the aim of offering training
for local authorities personnel in
subjects relating to local govern-
ment and its administration and to
engage in research and study in
this field. A total of five students
have enrolled in the institute,
which awards a diploma.
The program includes basic
courses in political studies, gov-
ernment in Israel, public adminis-
tration and economics. It also com-
prises a study of various problems
of local government.
Within this framework, lectures
and tutorials will be offered in such
subjects as the development of
local government in Israel, the so-
cial and political structure of local
government and the administration
of local authorities.
The Institute has been establish-
ed in cooperation with the Center
for Local Authorities.
