ened by Gahal's withdrawal from
cease fire is nullified, I believe

that Gahal will be asked to rejoin
the Israel government."
Asked whether he is still con-
vinced that it was a mistake for
Gahal to withdraw from the coali-
tion, Dultzin replied that recent
events have only reinforced his
original belief. He always felt that
the Jarring talks would drag on for
a long time. It was this conviction
that prompted him to oppose with-
drawal from the cabinet. "It was
our responsibility," stated Dultzin,
"to remain in the government in
order to fortify the position of
Dayan against his political oppo-
nents."
On the other hand, Dultzin was
quick to point out, there has been
a positive side to Gahal's action.

An additional $4,000,000 in de-
ferred gifts—wills, bequests, an-
nuities and life income trusts—
was received by the American
Histadrut Development Founda-
tion.
William H. Sylk of Philadel-
phia, the foundation's national
chairman, added That it had
amassed more than $18,500,000
in commitments over the past 10
years for long-range projects in
Israel.
The Histadrut board of directors
unanimously adopted a six-point
program submitted by the presi-
dent, Leon H. Keyserling. It com-
prises extension of fund-raising
goals, expansion of the. founda-
tion's activities, enrollment of
members in Israel Histadrut Asso-
ciates and similar groups, improve-
ment of relations with American
trade unionism, initiation of cul-
tural exchanges between Histad-
rut and "American intellectuals,"
and expansion of the effort to in-
form all Americans of "the achieve-
ments, purposes and problems of
Israel, and of Histadrut as a part
of this, toward developing and ac-
tivating affirmative support for
the economic and social objectives
of the people of Israel under in-
stitutions of freedom and demo-
cracy."
The board also voted to support
the Israeli government's position
regarding Egypt's missile violations
and the U.S. government's call for
"rectification" of that situation,
and called on the U.S. to help
free all 54 hostages held in Jordan
by "criminal" and lawless" hi-
jackers.

JERUSALEM—Once the salt is

is stocked, the Hadassah woman is
geared for action — more expli-
citly: service. Transplant a Ha-
dassah member to Israel and she
brings all of her zest and com-

Hundreds of former members of
Hadassah have come to settle in
Israel in recent years. To main-
tain their links with Hadassah and
also to help them to integrate into
Israel, a special Hadassah integra-

by the Hadassah Council in Israel.
Most of the new settlers find
satisfaction through serving in
