Spends Summer
at Israel Hospital

came to Israel in July to work as
a summer volunteer at Shaare
Zedek Hospital, Jerusalem. Now
she begins studying for an MA
in English at New York Univer-
sity.'

Israel "to stay."
She has it all mapped out. A
graduate of Detroit's Beth Jacob
School for Girls,

tal's public rela-
tions department.

Jewish' College Students has made
arrangements with the Jewish
Center for students to improve
their knowledge of Hebrew at a
fee substantially lower than the
usual fees for these courses.
Classes begin Sunday; late reg-
istrants are still being accepted.

Center, DI 1-4200. Students also
can refer to the Center's Catalo-
gue of Activities, which is avail-
able upon request and was recent-
ly mailed to all MAJCS students,
according to David Bale, editor of
the organization's Reporter.
The Michigan Association will
sponsor a debate on "Is Protest the
Best Way to Change Things?"
11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Center.
Panelists will be Andy Beider,
Barry Stein, David Zimmerman.
Larry Folkoff, Anna Jean Semen.
Ruthe Levy, Al Portnoy and
Sandy Goodman.
The program will include a
brunch at 10:30 and a brief busi-
ness meeting at 11. All Jewish stu-
dents are invited. Reservations for
the brunch, however, were accept-
ed only through last Wednesday.

The University of Alabama branch
here has announced a fully ac-
credited undergraduate course in
Jewish studies for the school year.
Rabbi 'Moshe Stern will be chair-
man for the new' program, which
has been organized in the univer-
sity's humanities division. Rabbi
