Temple Beth Solomon was found- ed 10 years ago by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. In 1966, according to its officials, it became the first deaf congrega- tion in the world to have its own synagogue building. Classes are provided for both deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Oral instruction is given through lip-reading and visual interpreta- tions by specially-trained teachers. Boys and girls entering their teens are prepared for Bar and Bat Mitzva. The synagogue also sponsors a religious school for children with normal hearing. Many are children of deaf parents or of others who live in the San Fernando Valley where the synagogue is located. The two groups of children play together in the synagogue play- ground and. work together in pre- paring for such celebrations as Passover, Hanuka and Purim. 91w ikon flan jAanAlo Local Suburban • PACKING Robert Simon Ph. 895-9500 Lona DISianes MPSCL 813 ICC • CRATING • OFFICE MOVING 59725 3315 Joy Road Detroit, Mich. 48026 where standards of personal hy- giene are high, the avenues for the One of the most surprising things spread of the cholera is cut off. . s Gives You More Gingts about the recent appearance of Indeed, while a certain number of cholera in Israel was that nobody, cases first appeared in an Arab Than A Beautiful refugee camp and some nearby and least of all the Ministry of Groom!
