Medallion Award of the Mizrachi

in ceremonies in the presidential
residence in Jerusalem.
Mrs. Milton S. Jacobson, of New
York City, national president of
Mizrachi Women, presented the
citation, noted that the award is
being conferred on Mrs. Shazar
"not as Israel's first lady, but as a
woman who has been first in many
fields of leadership."
The citation states that the award
is given "with admiration and af-
fection to Rachel Shazar, author,
educator, journalist and humani-
tarian activist, whose independence
and leadership have established
new standards of service for all
who cherish Israel and for women
everywhere."
