LA
TEL AVIV (JTA) — The Labor
Zionist movement ended a five-
day ideological conference here
131MMW
Monday night with a call for radic- . .r:O.M7.:MMOZOMMTMWM:
al changes in Jewish education "to
prepare youth for Jewish life and
for the struggle for the continued
existence of Jewish life."
The conference adopted a mani-
festo placing "aliya" — immigra-
tion—at the top of the agenda of
Zionist educational and propaganda
efforts. The manifesto also urged
the Labor Zionist movement and
Israel's Labor Party to concen-
trate on Socialist education and
support of .Histadrut, Israel's trade
union federation.
The Labor Zionist youth group
produced a manifesto of its own
stating that the primary objective
of Socialist Zionism is the promo-
tion of immigration to Israel. The
youngsters urged the movement to
"speak to youth in the language
of the 70s."

Silver Ark Untouched
in Synagogue Robbery

JERSEY CITY (JTA)—Intruders
broke into Cong. Emanu-EI here
and stole what Rabbi Benjamin
Plotkin described as "an old brok-
en-down radio and an old type-
writer."
He said the intruders apparent-
ly opened but did not steal or van-
dalize the temple's "beautiful silver
and elegant ark."
Rabbi Plotkin said he did not
think the incident was anti-Semitic
in nature. He said the last incident
at his synagogue occurred three
years ago and resulted in a fire
and $5,000 in damages. The police
are investigating the latest incident
