HY LEWIS
Danny is back in California again
so back to the typewriter for me.
Seems that he makes a yearly trek
to the land of milk, honey and
smog for his well earned vacation.
Going back into time, many,
many years ago on old Twelfth
Street you could see Danny hang-
ing out with his friends Sam Winer,
Aubrey Caplan, Al Stein, Turk
Prujansky, Sol Lewis, etc., etc.,
and you knew even then because
of his creative ability he would
become the magic weaver of a col-
umn of a widely read newspaper
that would with the ensuing years
cause his popularity to grow and
now to culminate in a testimonial
dinner honoring him at the Raleigh
House on Tuesday evening, Oct. 13.
The dinner was conceived by his
cronies who have become legion
and should be a fitting tribute to
this warm, nice and altogether
good guy.
The recent City of Hope Bob-Lo
moonlight excursion was the brain-
child of Fred and Clara Silber of
the Mr. and Mrs. group with every-
one present having a swell time. It
was co-sponsored by the New Hori-
zons Chapter.
Little Julie Oram shocked her
grandmas, Rose Or am and
Evelyn Lewis when daddy Bill
blew out the candles on his
birthday cake. Mother Donna
beamed when Julie sang "Happy
Birthday" without a hitch all the
way through. Would you believe
only 18 months . . . Sesame

hit a caddie on the head from 200
yards off the tee. Ruby ran all the
way over to see the boy wincing
with pain and shouting, "You hurt
me!, I'm going to sue for $5,000."
"But I hollered FORE!" Ruby ex-
claimed. The bewildered boy look-
ed at him and said, "I'll take it."
Meyer Feinstein and Lester •
Greenspan asked their friend Ir•-
ing Pitt what the surveyors found
on his property located near an oil
strike. "Parking space." Iry re-
plied, "Plenting of parking space!"
More than 30 books have been
written on Edgar Cayce, the
psychic marvel of the 20th Century,
with more coming off the presses
daily. Each attests to his powers
of prophecy and incredible abilities
in the areas of ESP (extra sensory
perception). Groups have form-
ed all over the world to investi-
gate the hidden powers invested in
all of us to some degree Ever
think of someone you haven't heard
from in a long time and the tele-
phone rings . . . haven't seen a
crony in years, dwelling on him for
a moment, he appears! One such
group locally is the ESP Research
Center, headed by Sol Lewis who
has compiled many extraordinary
experiences is the realm of psy-
chic phenomena of the local gen-
try.

NEW YORK — A fully equipped
American Red Mogen Dovid for
Israel ambulance was presented to
Israel's official Red Cross Agency,
Magen David Adorn, by Mr. and
Mrs. William Esikoff of Flushing,
N.Y.
The ceremony, dedicating the
vehicle in memory of the Esikoffs'
parents and in honor of Mr. Esi-
koff's 81st birthday, was held at
the Jamaica Estates Jewish Center.
