A $250,000 suit against the Fisher
Body Division of the General- Mo-

crimination, has been filed by Vir-
gil Phillip Marlowe of Southfield.
Marlowe, 52, a checking fixture
builder at the Fisher Body plant
in Pontiac since 1945, alleged that
he was denied overtime and pro-
motion because of his Jewish
faith.
He filed discrimination charges

The community is invited to the
open house of Camp Gan Israel
1-4 p.m. Sunday at Linden, Mich.
An invitational luncheon for
sponsors of Chabad will be held at
noon in the newly completed din-
ing hall. A tour of the camp
grounds and building under con-
struction (in memory of the par-
ents of Robert Ruch and made
possible by Mr. and Mrs. Ruch, '
the Charles Feinbergs and Irwin
Cohns), will precede the 1:30 pro-
gram in the auditorium of the
William Hordes Memorial Lodge.
Rabbi Harold Shusterman of
Cong. B'nai Reuven, Chicago, will
speak, and entertainment will be
provided by the campers.
Camp Gan Israel is now in its
second four-week season under
head counselor Rabbi Y. M.
Kagan, youth director of Cong.
Mishkan Israel. The campers
are from Canada and cities in
the Midwest, as well as Detroit;
its staff includes counselors from
Gan Israel camps in Israel, Eng-
land, Italy, France and Austra-
lia.
Charles E. Feinberg, camping
chairman, said "This is the only
camp in the Midwest where chil-
dren from observant homes can
benefit from a completely modern
camping program without com-
promise to their religious upbring-
ing, and children from nonobser-
vant homes can benefit from ex-
periencing the traditional atmos-
phere with a true `Shabos' which
will long stay in their minds."
For information about the open
house, call the Gan Israel office,
398-2611. Open house chairman is
Irwin I. Cohn. Women's committee
chairmen are Mrs. Max Biber and
Mrs. Robert Ruch.
