Moiseyev Dance Troupe Faces Protests in U.S. When the Russian Moiseyev Dance Company comes here to the Masonic Temple in September there will be pickets pleading: "Otpusti Narod Moy!" — "Let My People Go!" It will be the plea to the Russian government through the cultural emissaries to permit Russian Jews to go to Israel or to leave for any other land as an escape from per- secution. And as an expression of protest against the Russian government. the pickets will urge a boycott of the company that is to visit here. The first in a series of such boycott demonstrations took place last week at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. The picketing was arranged by Jewish students. The Student 'Struggle for So- viet Jewry staged a "counter- show" to the opening perform- ance of the Moiseyev. The more than 100 students put on their own entertainment program in the Lincoln Center plaza, invit- ing the Russians to "Come down and learn Jewish dances." indicate there seems to be an ele- ment within our community which seems intent on disrupting the Moiseyev's performances in the name of the Soviet Jews.
