being constructed on 10 Mile
Rd. in Oak Park, will range in
rent from $85 to $115 per month.
The 112 efficiencies which will be
available are electrically heated
with individual thermostats.
They are unfurnished except for
carpeting and kitchen appliances.
During the experimental stage,
groups of heavy smokers will
gather in the Department's audio-
visual laboratories, listening to
tapes using verbal therapy.
Eventually it is hoped that tapes
will be available commercially so
that smokers can listen to them
in the comfort of their own living
rooms.
Though no accurate statistics are
available on what percentage of
the Israeli population smokes, it
is known that Israel ranks high
among western countries.
