Yaffe Stone August Wins Double Honors

Yaffe Stone August, Inc., when
the advertising agency took both
an International Broa de asting
Award of the Hollywood Radio and
Television Society, and a Printing
Industries of America, Inc., Graph-
ic Arts Award in advertising indus-
try competitions.
Created less than a year ago in
a merger of Stone Watkins August,
with Fred Yaffe and Co., the Hunt-
ington Woods based agency termed
itself then, "a merger between an
agency strong in print (SWA) and
another strong in the broadcast
mediums."
Fred Yaffe, agency president,
said the IBA award was given YSA
for its Little Caesar's Pizza tele-
vision commercial, a one-minute,

full-color production that featured
a look-alike Col. Sanders indulging
in a Little Caesar's Pizza.
PIA singled- out the agency for
honors on its creation and produc-
tion of a brochure designed to
showcase the agency's talent. En-
titled, "People Make It," the bro-
chure features dramatic black and
white photography and thumb-nail,
tongue-in-cheek sketches of key
agency personnel.

Held for Shnidermans

On June 14, Mrs. Celia Newman of the Bronx celebrated her 90th
birthday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.

appointed a trust officer at Manu-
facturers Bank. Goodman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Goodman,
joined the bank in 1966. He is a
graduate of Eastern Michigan Uni-
versity and Detroit College of Law.

MR. AND MRS. SHNIDERMAN

The two children, nine grand-
children and one great-grandchild
of Mr. and Mrs. Max Shniderman
of Borgman Ave., Oak Park, gave
a party Sunday at the Rascal
House to honor the couple's 50th
wedding anniversary. Guests from
the United States and Canada at-
tended the celebration.
The Shnidermans were married
in Varchivka, Russia, in 1920,
came to Canada in 1921 and emi-
grated to Detroit in 1942.
Mr. Shniderman is president
of Michelle Fashions, a manu-
facturer of ladies coats and
suits since 1947. The present
factory is on Fort St.
The Shnidermans are members
of the Americans for a Progres-
sive Israel and will establish a
fund for the organization to com-
memorate this occasion.
Some $1,500 in gift contributions
will be donated to the Association
for the Welfare of Soldiers in

Israel.

Adult Israel Tour
Planned by Center

A trip to Israel for adults, pri-
marily adults of fifty years of age
who are either single or married
is announced by the Jewish Center.
The trip will be accompanied by
two representatives of the Center,
and will be for 16 days, leaving
from New York Sept., 8 and return-
ing to New York on Sept. 23. The
tour will include half-day touring,
full-day touring and free time.
The tour is open to people in the
midwest area and reservations are
now being taken. Reservation dead-

have presented her with 16 grandchildren. She also has 41 great-grand-

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Levine (Lillian Mermelstein) and their 9-
month-old daughter Julie Anne, former Detroiters of Van Nuys, Calif.,
were recent house guests at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Fried-
man of Continental Ave., Southfield, their sister and brother-in-law.
They were joined by another sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Rice and by Mrs. Levine's mother, Mrs. Serena Feinberg,
visiting from New York. They joined Mr. Levine's father, John Levine,
and sisters Mrs. Jack Scharg and Mrs. David Ryke and their husbands.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Liepah of Rue Versailles Dr., Oak Park, cele-
brated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21 at a party given by
their nieces Mrs. John Neuron and Mrs. Norval Slobin.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Isaacs of Appleton Ave. celebrated their 40th
wedding anniversary recently with a cocktail party at the Farmington
Village Clubhouse given by their children Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Isaacs

Luncheon to Aid Honeymoon in England

The Detroit Council of Pioneer
Women announces that the fifth
annual luncheon in support of Beit
Nehama, the Detroit Children's
Home and Community Center in
Ramat Eliyahu, Israel, will take
place noon Thursday, at Town and
Country Club.
Mrs. Frank Wasser, who recently
returned from Israel, will be chair-
man of the day.
Featured in the program will be
a "Songs of Israel" program by
Cantor Reuven Frankel and Penina
and Tamar, instrumental and sing-
ing duo.
Belt Nehama now services 100
children in the day care progratn
and has a variety of courses for
mature women in the vocational
training department. It serves the
community of Ramat Eliyahu as a
cultural center.
Mrs. Norman Leemon and Mrs
Milton Weiss are co-chairmen of
this project.

to Robert Nathan Bader in a recent
double ring ceremony at Cong.
Beth Achim. Rabbi Benjamin Gni--
relick officiated. A reception fol-
lowed at Tam O'Shanter Country
Club.
After a honeymoon trip to Eng-
land, the couple will reside in
Royal Oak.
Parents of the couple are Dr.
and Mrs. Samuel Reisman of Wil-

Jay Jerome Bader of Muirland

The bride wore a Victorian style
gown of peau d'ange lace and silk
organza with a high neck and
Empire bodice. It featured bishop
sleeves, an all-lace appliqued re-
movable chapel length train and
matching lace mantilla headpiece.
Maid of honor was Linda Reis-
man, sister of the bride. Brides-
maids were Shelley Reisman, the
bride's sister; Susan Feigenson,
Mrs. Tania Peterson, Mrs. Janet
Ashley of Wichita, Kan. and Mrs.
Lynn Smith.
Best man was Richard Bader,
brother of the bridegroom. Ushers
were Charles Bader, brother of the
bridegroom; Douglas Reisman,
brother of the bride; Michael
Reisman, Martin Rose of Los An-

naw and Richard Lorentzen.
