Mira Linder Opens Ruth Operman Becomes
Mrs. Samuel Tabachnik
Aid Societies Purchase Israel Bonds 'Aesthetics Salon'

The art of "aesthetics"—caring
for the skin, underlying tissues
and muscles so as to make a
woman look and feel younger—
is being practiced at a newly
opened salon in the Southfield
area, the Aesthetics of Mira Lin-
der.
Mrs. Linder, wife of Benjamin
Linder, an accountant at Sinai
Hospital, was born in Poland and

trained in Paris as well as New
York. Prior to the Linders' arrival

in this country five years ago, they
lived in Israel.

At the Berdichev-Keshenev-Zhitomir Aid Society's Israel Bond
evening, which honored Sam Cohen, the president, for his services to
the society and which boosted Israel Bond subscriptions, from left,
seated: Mrs. Goldie Plotnick, Mrs. Sam Cohen, Mrs. Ida Rosenberg,
and Mrs. Bessie Frankel; standing, Ben Golbin, Sam Sigman, Isidore
Deal, Sam Cohen, Jacob Resnick and Louis Cohan.

Women of JNF Forego Anniversary Forest
to Plant Trees in Memory of Slain Children

A forest in memory of the chil-
dren of Kibutz Kiryat Shemona
who were slain in a bus ambush
will be planted by the Women of
Jewish National Fund, it was an-
nounced by Mrs. Albert Posen,
president.
Funds originally were to be us-
ed for the planting of a women's
forest in the area of Kibutz Gadot
in honor of the group's 40th anni-
versary.
The site of the memorial forest
will be near where the children of
Kiryat Shemona lived and died at
the hands of Arab terrorists.
In making the announcement,
Mrs. Posen said that the work
of her organization is in evidence
throughout Israel and that a "fit-
ting memorial to the slain chil-
dren of Kibutz Kiryat Shemona
is much more important at this
time than a forest dedicated to
the women's chapter."
Current plans for the memorial
forest call for a number of gar-
dens consisting of 100 trees each

The Jewish National Fund pil-
grimage which leaves July 13 for
Israel will make a symbolic dedi-
cation of the children's forest
when it visits the site. Formal
dedication ceremonies probably
will be in late fall.
Inquiries regarding the memor-
ial forest planned by the JNF
Women should be made at the
JNF office, 22100 Greenfield, Oak
Park, 399-0820.

The 18-day excursion, direct

The pilgrimage has been plan-
ned to give participants the oppor-
tunity to see Israel as the average
tourist seldom sees it. The Jewish
