Samuel Wohl, of Southfield Rd., Southfield, will be hosts at a dinner
in honor of the Bar Mitzva of their son and grandson, Ross Hilton
Kemper, at Raleigh House, Sunday evening. The Bar Mitzva will be
performed at Beth Achim Saturday. Out of town guests at the party
will be Bernard F. Kemper of California, Louis Fried, Mr. and Mrs.
Mac Siegal, Robert Siegel, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Charney, Mr. and
Mrs. James Wynne, Mr. and Mrs. Nat Brodkin, Mr. and Mrs. Mitch
Freedman and Gerald Geist, all of New York and Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Fradkin of Cincinnati.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Rouff of James St., Oak Park, celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary at a party given by their children at
the Raleigh House Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Rouff are lifelong residents
of Michigan and were married in Detroit. Out-of-town guests here for
the festivities were Mrs. Lillian Rouff, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Trautman,
Mr. Ben Hulsh, and Mrs. Lynn Pazutto, all of Miami Beach; Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Rouff of Van Nuys, Cal.; and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Stoller
of Cleveland.
Mrs. Ethel Gyarfas, membership director, and Ronald Stocker, a
supervisor, of the Jewish Community Center, will leave on July 8 to
take part in this summer's National Jewish Welfare Board Israel
Institute for Jewish Community Center Professional Staff being spon-
sored for the fifth year by JWB, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the
American Zionist Youth Foundation.
Mr. Samuel Manis, of Nadine Ave., Oak Park celebrated his 80th
birthday Sunday at Topinka's Country House with his children: Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Guttentag, Mr. and Mrs. Garold Kirschner, and Mrs.
Nathaniel C. Fisher of Rochester, N.Y. and their families. He was also
recently honored for this occasion by the Congregation Beth Sholom
and the Rovner Lachowitcher Aid Society.

Needs Volunteers f or Tutoring

A call for volunteers who will
devote at least one afternoon a
week during July to a Summer Tu-
turial Program has been issued by
the Junior Division of the Jewish
Welfare Federation.
July 7-30 children from the third
through 6th grades of the Green-
field Park Elementary School will
meet three afternoons a week for
a tutoring and summer experience
program.

Parents of the couple are Mr.
Paul Shalita of Roslyn, N.Y., and
Mrs. Milton Solins of New York
City and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lewis

The bride wore a chiffon gown
of midi-length with smocked bo-
dice touched with Venise lace
flowers. The bodice had a ruffled
neck and bishop sleeves with a
wide cuff that was smocked with
matching lace and edged with a
ruffle. The gown was banded at
the high-rise waist with a lavender
Grosgrain ribbon. She wore a large,
white straw picture hat with rib-
bon matching that of the gown.
She carried a handbouquet of lily-
of-the-valley surrounded by in-
dividual flowerets of lavender
stock, set in camelia leaves.
She was attended by the bride-
groom's sister, Mrs. Guy Barron.
and the bridegroom's father served
as best man. The bride's brother,
Ronald Shalita, and Guy Barron
ushered.
After a wedding trip to Europe,
the couple will reside in Ann Arbor.

CRAFT
DISPLAYS

On two days a week the children
gather at the school, 17501 Brush,
Detroit, and are transported by
bus to Temple Israel. The third
day is devoted to field trips to
spots in the Detroit area.
Juniors and seniors in high
school, school teachers, house-
wives, college students and prees-
sional men are among the volun-
teers who have served with the
2rogram during the past four sum-
mers.
An orientation meeting for volun-
teers will be held 7 p.m. Thurs-
day, at Temple Israel to arrange
schedules and to brief workers on
their responsibilities.

teering for the tutorial program
may be obtained by calling Mrs.
Lillian Bernstein at the Jewish
Welfare Federation, WO 5-3939.
