The central figure in this volume is the late Dr. Judah L. Dr. Goren, a native of Chelsea, Mass., was a member of Gesher Hazis, the American-established Israeli kibutz. He studied at the Hebrew University, received his doctorate from Columbia Univer- sity and is presently a visiting professor in the Charles Warren Center of Harvard University. Prof. Goren is popular in Israel as the interpreter of American affairs on Kol Israel radio sta- tion. This is the fourth in the series of seminars organized by the insti- tute, which is part of the univer- sity. Lectures and discussions will be held on aspects of contempor- ary Jewry throughout the world, with special emphasis on Israel.
