before she found exactly what she had in mind.
Earlier in the day, Jay Eichler helped a customer
find a pair of shoes that matched her favorite outfit.
He gave an extra-tall girl the confidence to buy her
first pair of pumps and walk out feeling like a model.
He didn't even crack a smile when a 73-year-old

grandmother tried on a pair of knee-high patent boots.
Since our customers are notoriously finicky about
their comfort, we're choosy about our salesmen. We
hire, and keep, experienced men. So when a finicky
customer wants to look at a lot of shoes, our salesmen
take it right in stride.
