injuries were sustained by three
soldiers, folir border policemen
and two foreign journalists in a
clash between an Israeli patrol
and a group of Arab saboteurs Fri-
day morning near Mar Ruppin.
The newsmen were not imediately
identified.
A hand grenade was thrown Fri-
day into ,a group of Arab mer-
chants in Gaza who were opening
their shops despite the insistence
of the terrorist organizations that
they close in protest against Israeli
occupation. One merchant and two
children were injured. Terrorists
on Friday also tossed grenades at
a Gaza Strip police car occupied
by local policemen and patrolling
the Djebalia refugee quarter. None
of the policemen were injured in

the attack, although the vehicle
was damaged.
On Monday, Police Minister
Police Minister Shlomo Hillel
told the Knesset that the Israeli
police and security operations,
having "exposed a number of
sabotage rings," had "checked
the wave of violence" by Arab
terrorists. But he recommended
improved working conditions to
attract necessary additional man-

war and to urge the Canadian
government to speak out more
effectively for a negotiated settle-

of the Canadian Parliament, was
occasioned by the third anniver-
sary of the Six-Day War.
Spokesmen for the Ottawa Jew-

Jews had no criticism of their
government's stand in the Arab-
Israel conflict. But they felt Canada
could make more effective use
of its prestige in the world arena
by speaking out vehemently
against Soviet military involve-
ment in Egypt and in condemna-
tion of the Arab terrorist war
against Israeli children and other
civilians. "The Canadian govern.
ment has taken a positive ap-
proach in the Middle East but it
could do more to make its posi-
tion known by raising its voice
more often and by placing the
Mid East conflict higher on its
priorities," one Jewish spokesman
said.

Meanwhile, reports were releas-
ed that security forces have ar-

town of Acre and several Western
Galilee villages in connection with
five explosions that rocked the
beach last week at Nahariya, a
seaside resort north of Haifa.
There were no casualties.
Police have reported that several
terrorist suspects have been ar-
rested in connection with a series
of attacks on railway lines and
other communications facilities in
the Gaza Strip. Three bunkers and
arms caches were discovered after
the arrests.
Security forces have arrested
several dozen guerrillas in recent
weeks, among them a senior com-
mander of El Fatah in the Hebron
region and others who have con-
fessed to a fatal attack on a tourist
bus near Hebron last winter.
According to disclosures, about
30 guerrillas were apprehended in
the Samaria region in the process
of organizing sabotage cells. Large
arms caches were also discovered.
The arrests in the Judaea region
netted commandos with long
records of terrorist activities in-
cluding attacks on the Etzion settle-
ments north of Hebron, security
sources said.
