Gen. Marsall Discounts Soviet Threats in M.E.; Makes Appeal for CFI

Arieh Plotkin. eminent historian,
who made a strong plea for CFI
which resulted in the largest in-
vestment in the Tourism for Israel
project on record here.
Dr. Plotkin gave an interesting
account of current events in the
Middle East and especially the
conditions in Lebanon.
Norman Allan, chairman of the
Detroit CFI Committee, outlined
the program for aid to tourism.
He quoted figures that the chal-
lenge has been met by Jews and
non-Jews in assuring encour-
aging acclaim for the El Al
Israel Airline and for uninter-
rupted tourism to Israel on other
lines.
The CFI supporters gave acclaim
to the noted Yemenite singer,
Shoshana Damari, who was ac-
companied by Menahem Tzur.
