Israel Capable of Making THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS
Small A-Bomb, Says Time

NEW YORK (ZINS)—According
to a story in Time magazine, Is-
rael's atomic research facilities in
Dimona now produce 6 kilograms
of plutonium each year which are
enough to permit the manufacture
of a small atomic bomb.
The editors of Time believe that
several countries not yet listed as
nuclear powers are capable of
joining this exclusive club, includ-
ing Israel, China, India and Japan.
According to Time, the Israelis
have pledged that they will not
be the first to introduce atomic
weapons in the Middle East. But
neither will they be the last.
"One may safely assume," Time
continued, "that Israel has made
all necessary preparations for the
production of nuclear weapons, but
is simply not putting them into ef-
fect for the time being."

Giving Advice
Just as I do not ask advice, I
rarely give it. If my advice is not
often called for, still less is it fol-
