OUR PRIDE
OUR RESPONSIBILITY!

ISRAEL--

We rejoiced on that momentous day 22 years ago when Israel was reborn.

We suffered when the new state was attacked from all sides. Jews in every free

country of the world helped by sending food, clothing, medical supplies and money.

Although the War of Independence was won, the struggle has continued.

Through the years of crisis, the Jews of America and of Detroit stood by the

brave Israeli citizens as they fought to preserve their homeland.

TODAY, THEY NEED OUR HELP MORE THAN EVER !

Commemorate this 22nd anniversary of Israel's birth by strengthening our

determination that Israel will live.

ISRAEL
rests with these children—
born in many countries—
growing up in a new devel-
opment town in the desert.
The immigration absorption
program funded by Jews
from around the world will
insure their education,
health care and welfare.

THE FUTURE OF

As partners in Israel's survival, we have
exalted in their victories, and wept for their
dead. Israelis have fought with their lives to
preserve and rebuild the Jewish nation and we
joined with our dollars.
When their own revenues were needed
mainly for defense, we helped support th vital
programs of immigrant absorption, education
and care for the sick and the aged.
The struggle for Israel's security continues
for them — and for us.
Join the 24,000 Detroiters who have already
committed themselves to Israel's future—send
your contributions to the 1970 Allied Jewish
Campaign-Israel Emergency Fund today.

The Detroit Jewish community has once
more established a new record of commitment
to its fellow Jews around the world. More money
has been pledged in 1970 than in any previous
Campaign.
But the promises will not buy food, medical
supplies and clothing for those who need it.

Maxwell Jospey

Chairman

1970 Allied Jewish Campaign-
Israel Emergency Fund

Good intentions will not resettle an immigrant

family in Israel, nor train a young man for a
secure future.
They need your cash — and they need
it NOW!
If you have not paid your pledge to the
1970 Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergency
Fund, we ask you to do it today. If you have
already sent your check, thank you.

THE FUTURE OF ISRAEL
rest with these children—
born in many countries—
coming together to know an
entirely new way of life. The
immigration program funded
by you will bring 60,000
immigrants to Israel this
year.
