Federation Junior Division to Co-Host
Parley With Young Leadership Group

The Junior Division of the Jew-1
ish Welfare Federation and the
Young Leadership Institute will
host the 1970 Central States Re-
gional Young Leadership Confer-
ence at the Statler Hilton Hotel
May 22-24.
Michael A. Pelavin of Flint,
general chairman of the confer-
ence, said that the meeting will
bring together the young leaders
or Jewish federations and welfare
funds in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois,
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and
Ontario.
Assisting Pelavin from Flint are
Dr. and Mrs. Ira Marder, Dr. and
Mrs. Leon Rosky and Dr. and
Mrs. Jack Stanzler.
"The program will concern it-
self with the problems which we

face both as Jews and as Ameri-
cans," said Pelavin.
Thomas I. Klein is associate gen-
eral chairman; Joel D. Tauber,
program chairman; and Barry
Yaker, associate program chair-

Concurrently, the American As-
sociation for Jewish Education,
responding to inquiries from "a
great number" of high schools and
colleges, is preparing a three-year,
$1,000,000-plus program for devel-
opment of Jewish studies pro-
grams. The program, which will
include commissioning of new text-
books and instructional materials,
will be taken up at an AAIE rcon-
ference this month at Grossinger's,
N.Y., according to Isaac Toubin,
AAJE executive vice president.
