Pindling, prime min- ister of the Bahamas, will be third speaker in the 20th annual Leo M. Franklin Memorial Lecture Series at Wayne State University. Pindling will discuss the feasi- bility of social revolution within the framework of the law and con- stitutional processes, as well as other political, social and econom- ic problems, 8 p.m. Monday in the Community Arts Auditorium on the WSU campus. Pindling speaks from experience for that is how his Progressive Liberal Party wrested control of the Bahamian government from the United Bahamian Party in 1967. Theme for the series is "The Wcrld in Revolution." Hubert Locke, director of the Wayne State Office of Religious Affairs, is 1970 Franklin Lecturer. The series is named for the late rabbi of Temple Beth El. Pindling, 39, the first native Bahamian to hold the chief execu- tive's post in his government, took office as premier in January 1967. Constitutional amendments changed his title to prime minister last year. Educated in Nassau and in England, Pindling received a law degree in 1952 from the University of London. He is a member of the bar in England and the Bahamas. Angie Elizabeth Brooks, presi- dent of the United Nations Gen- eral Assembly and assistant sec- retary of state and vice president of Liberia, will deliver the fourth lecture in the series, The United Nations and Power Conflicts: Prospects for Peace in the '70s," 8 p.m. May 11. Locke will deliver the final ad- dress at 8 p.m. May 18 on "Can the Future Be Humanized?" Jean Seltzer Robbins, Wife of Psychiatrist Jean Seltzer Robbins. former Detroit sculptress and wife of psy- chiatrist Dr. Edward R. Robbins, died last Saturday in Los Angeles. She was 66. Mrs. Robbins, a longtime De- troiter, was a member of Women's American ORT, Brandeis Univer- sity women's organization and the Young Musicians' Foundation in Detroit. Her father, the late Nathan Seltzer, also was a long- time Detroiter. The Robbins family moved in 1946 to California, where a son. James, is a psychiatrist and son-in- law Dr. Richard Treiman is a vascular surgeon. A brother, the late Dr. Saul Seltzer, also practiced in Los Angeles. Besides her husband, son and daughter Betty Lou, Mrs. Robbins leaves seven grandchildren. In- terment Los Angeles.
