Max Miller. Owner of Delicatessen
Max Miller, owner and founder
of Miller's Delicatessen and Alas-
ka Smoked Fish Co., died Monday
at age 83.
Mr. Miller, 27355 Greenfield,
Southfield, ran the delicatessen
from 1920 to 1963 and retired six
years ago. He was a member of
Cong. Beth Achim and formerly
Cong. Bnai Moshe.
Born in Russia. NIr. Miller was
a Detroit area resident for the past
54 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mollie;
three sons. Al of Miami Beach,
Joe and Harry: a daughter, Mrs.
Abe Green; tv..o brothers, Abe
of Beverly Hills and Nathan; two
sisters, Mrs. Sam (Vivian) Shul-
man and Mrs. Jack Lillian) Sil-
ver; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-
grandchildren.
Harry Singer, 69
Harry Carlton Singer, founder
and chairman of the board of
Rite-Way Press, Inc., 12175 Clover-
dale, died last Saturday at age 69.
Mr. Singer, who was in the
graphic arts industry for 47 years,
headed the Rite-Way business for
seven years. A native of Toledo,
Mr. Singer resided at 16228 Oxley,
Southfield.

local Jewish group has been meet-
ing regularly since last Novem-
ber with Muhammed Kenyatta,
Pennsylvania director of the Black
Economic Development Confer-
ence, on cooperative ways to raise
the economic standards of Negroes
in the area. A series of project
proposals involving Jewish finan-
cial aid and expertise which
emerged from those meetings has
been disclosed by Kenyatta.

Israeli Communists met recently
with a group of Italian Communist
Party leaders to discuss the Arab-
Israel conflict, the Communist
daily Unita reports. The report
indicated that there were differ-
ences of opinion between the two
groups but according to Unita
they all agreed that the main
obstacle to Mid East peace was the
Israeli government "supported by
U.S. imperialism."
