Officials here acknowledged that
the fighting was opened by Israeli
forces in retaliation for the recent
escalation of attacks by Syrian

WASHINGTON —A new chapter
in Jewish education opens Sunday
at Temple Sinai here with a stu-
dent-conceived, student-organized,
and student-implemented program.
The Jewish Experiment in Free
Form Education will consist of
more than 30 courses, including in-
struction in Jewish culture, such
as Israeli folk dancing, Jewish
cuisine, Jewish art and Jewish
humor; Historic tops, such as the
Holocaust and anti-Semitism; and
contemporary themes such as the
Inner City, Selective Service and
the Jew and mixed marriage and
dating.
Initially, participation was to he
limited to students of the eighth
through tenth grades. Such wide-
spread enthusiasm developed, how-
ever, that the parents for these
grades were invited, and then,
finally, the entire adult member-
ship of the congregation.
