Mussorgsky Biblical Work to Have
Premiere Here at Beth Achim Event
At the Spring Festival of Music
to be held in the Southfield build-
ing of Cong. Beth Achim, 8:15 p.m.
Sunday, a biblical oratorio, "Jos-
hua," by the composer Mussorg-
sky will be performed for the first
time in this area.
The Beth Achim Festival Chorus,
organized. and conducted by Can-
tor Simon Bermanis, also will
present Mendelssohn's "Lift Up
Thine Eyes," as well as some con-
temporary Israeli songs and peren-
nial Yiddish classics. Piano ac
companiment will be furnished by
Mrs. Bette Traub.

Symphony Orchestra will offer a
program of violin selections from
the works of Ernest Bloch, Mark
Lavry, Paul Ben-Haim and Jo.
