THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Friday, April 10, 1970-11

.

I've kept my promise to tomorrow.
I've given the youth pride /
purpose and a future. I need help.

The strength and future of any people is its youth. So
the most perilous of all internal threats occurs when the
young are prevented from going to school. The people of
Israel have used their money, resources and manpower
to build and strengthen their educational system. But the
youth has needed more. And as the people of Israel face
the constant menace of another Arab war, with every
resource they have going solely on defense, that need
must be met.
It has always been the responsibility of the United
Jewish Appeal and individuals like you to help win Israel's
humanitarian struggle. And most important to provide
schools, adequate materials and the training of more men
and women as teachers of the young.
While the people of Israel dedicate themselves to the
first task, defending life and nation, we must dedicate
ourselves to insuring a future for that society. When the
people of Israel call for help, we must not fail to answer.

We hear you, Israel.
