grew to such rroportion (800) that ,
it was split last year into two sep-
arate clubs . . Now known as
the Birmingham and Franklin
groups of Hadassah, they'll join
hands in a to"etherress effort to
raise funds toward the rebuilding
of Mt. Scoot!: . . . It'll be a buffet
dinner and auction with cocktail
glasses raised on high in tribute
to the evening as "Mr. Wonderful
Night" by the gals, honoring their
hubbies who on , ke it possible for
them to do their fine work in
behalf of world Jewry . . . Helen
Siegel (Robert) is president of the
Birmingham lassies and Sue Kauf-
man (Jerome). is president of
the Franklin-ites . Date is April

LITTLE MARTIN STONER'S
teacher sent a note home to his
parents Alice and Dick Stoner

cooperating to the fullest in help-

feplied, "Well, it's like this. She
just doesn't teach anything I want

WHILE FIDING in Eli Springer's
cab last week. Sid Keller spotted
an elderly lady trying to -hail the
taxi he was in . . It was a miser-
able night so Sid asked Eli to
stop and take her where she
wanted to go . . . During a bit of
conversation, the little lady admit-
ted to being 83 years old ... When
they reached her address, Sid. said,
"I'm going to see you safely to
the door." . . . "You positively
are not," she said forcefully. "My
husband might be looking."
