TAKE THE FAMILY
,OUT, TO, DINI4ERLANIA A- SHOW.:,

TALK ABOUT DREAMS coming
rue . . . Marvin Tamaroff's is a
real doozy .. . Being a used car
man for years, Marv's high hopes
were to some day have a major car
dealership with a major-league
physical setup . . . A mystic cloud
had told him to buy the huge seven
acres of land on Telegraph and 12
Mile Rd. . . . which in April 1969
became the site of one of the most
magnificient dealer setups in the
United States . . . His seven acres
across from the Tel-12 Mall, is able
to house within a single confine,
the new Buicks and Opels, used
cars and service and bumping
facilities ... In fact, the showroom
spaciousness inside and out, allows
for showing of the complete Buick
line .. A.nd don't think his sales-
men under general manager Jack
Shulman aren't looking forward to
some good sun tans this summer
. . . All will sport the golden look
thanks to bossman Marv's fore-
sight . . . When supervising the
original construction, he allowed
for an outdoor sales display area
which is found only on used car
lots! . . . Not only has Marv's
dream become one of America's
most beautiful showrooms, but is
already third among the Buick
dealers in Metropolitan Detroit ...
No man can be happier than to
have his dream come true . . .
Mary Tamaroff is indeed a very
happy man!
ASKED WHAT HE was read-
ing, 10-year-old Sanford Glaser

told his mother, Sylvia Glaser
(Herbert) it was a book called
"Child Training" that he had bor-
rowed from a neighbor ...Sylvia
asked if it was amusing and San-
ford replied, "I'm not reading it
for that. I just wanted to see it
I have been brought up proper-
ly.,,
REGARDS FROM former De-

troit builder and fencing champ
Gerry Taines in Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla. .. . While in Detroit, he was
inter-collegiate three-weapon cham-
pion at Wayne State U. in 1946 and
a member of the 1948 Olympic
Squad . . . In Florida, 1960.61, he
was the state epee champ and soon
after took top honors in sabre com-
petition . . . Now 45, Gerry still
wields a mighty swish . . . more
with the pen and pencil though,
since writing has always been a
favorite hobby of his.
LAURIE ANN GOLDMAN, 3-
year-old daughter of Mae and
George Goldman, watched all day
as Mae polished and cleaned the
house . . . Later that evening when
Mae began drying her after her
bath, little Laurie Ann said, "Give
me the towel, Mommy, and I'll
shine myself!"
MICHAEL GREEN, former De-
troit orchestra leader, now a TV
producer with ABC in California,
writes of American Broadcasting
recently rounding up a group of
amateurs for auditions one morn-
ing . . . One applicant draped a
cowbell around his neck and began

rending "Chloe" in a series of
plaintive "moos" on an old gallon
jug ... By wagging his head ener-
getically he got a series of accom-
panying "clunks" from the cowbell.
. . . When he concluded, he looked
up happily and asked, "How did I
do?" . . . "You're great so far,"
said an assistant of Mike's, "Now
let's see you give milk."
(Mike's parents, George and Sylvia
Green, live in Oak Park.)
SEEING SIGNS . . . At a rural
crossroad near Leamington, in
Canada, a traffic sign reads, "Take
care whch rut you use. You'll be in
it kle.thelatted2B AIWA x L
