Boys and Girls Asked
to Membership Event
of Hashachar Youth
Hashachar, the youth movement
of Hadassah, announces an open
membership program for boys and
girls age 9-13 at 2 p.m. March 15
at the Oak Park Jewish Center.
Featured will be Israeli music
and dancing led by the Abe Ku-
nianski, games and a color movie
of Camp Judea.
Hashachar offers young peo-
ple a program whose stated
goals are enriched Jewish liv-
ing in Che United States, deeper
understanding and acceptance of
Zionism and stimulation of ac-
tive interest in Israel and its
people.
The program has four divisions:
Junior Young Judea, for boys and
girls age 9-11; Intermediate Young
Judea, age 11-13; Senior Judea
for youth of high-school age; and
HaMagshinun (The Fulfillers) for
high-school graduates up to age 25
The programs include discus-
sions, social activities, seminars,
leadership training and Israel
Work-study travel institutes.

Former Oak Park High guard
PAUL KUTNICK has been the
most accurate foul shooter on
Wayne State University's freshman
basketball team this spring and has
taken over a starting berth on the
team. The 6-1 Kutnick, hitting 69
per cent from the foul line, has
pushed in 101 points in 13 games
for nearly 8 points per game. His
top scoring effort was a 20-point
night against the Oakland U. fresh-
men Feb. 13.

Playland, an introduction to day
camping for kindergarten children,
has been expanded to both the 10
Mile branch and main building.
Activities are designed for in-
dividual expression and creativity,
as well as group participation.
Both Playland groups meet
Monday through Friday in spe-
cially equipped rooms and play-
grounds. Activities include arts
and crafts, trips, free play, Jew-
ish heritage programs, singing
and dancing and outdoor fun. A
