Sylvia Starkman, a performing oboist, taught for 10 years at Stevens College, Iowa. Sophie Ruskay Licks to Celebrate Writes Another Golden A /I IliVerSa ly Book at Age 82 I Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Licht At 82 Sophie Ruskay is still so very active that her short stories and plays gain an applauding read- ing public. In her newest book, "The Jelly Woman," published by A. S. Bar- nes, she has incorporated a num- ber of short stories, monologues and a playlet. She covers a lot of ground— about Israel, Yiddish, the Nazi terror and the survivors. Her play, "We Built America Too," had been presented in Cedarhurst, N.Y., in 1954. The theme is related to Colonial and Revolutionary times and has Judah Touro and Rabbi Gershon Seixas in its cast of characters.
